Anyone up for recording a zone jam?

Okay so I had this idea awhile back and not much time to carry it out. Now that I have both time and energy, I'm ready to do this... But I need your help!

I am planning on recording a backing track, and looking for a collection of zoners to record vocals to go along with the track... sort of in a "We Are the World" or "Do They Know Its Christmas?" style. Planning on doing this with a popular song, just to see if I can do this. If this experiment works out, I would be willing to write or colaborate on an original song that would have this same style.

Essentially how this would work is:
1. You tell me if you are interested in doing this by either replying to this board topic or sending me an email. If you know your range, that will help in planning the key for the song.
2. I will record the backing track and send it out to those who are interested in taking part in this project.
3. You record your vocals for the song. Basically I'm thinking if everyone sings the song I will take the best passages from each recording and string them together.
4. When you finish recording, send a file with your isolated vocals back to me. Please don't put any effects on the vocals. This will make editing much easier!
5. I will make a mix and send it out to the participants.

If this sounds like fun to you, please let me know. The more singers the better. Also open to having other instrumentalists contribute to the backing track. This will be fun!

This is only for fun. Although I am a professional musician, this project is not my life's work - just a fun experiment. The goals are to have fun and to see if I can actually pull this off with your help. Thanks for your consideration!
Anyone else?

I'dlove to do it, but because of me being in 2 bands and things, and lacking
much of what I use because of it being at the place where I have band practice
with one of my bands, I can't. I play 3 keyboards, pluss guitar, and also sing. If
I had a bass I could play bass as well.

Is your voice where you practice with your bands?

But seriously I know how that goes. If you have a decent mic to record on your computer would love you to contribute vocals if possible.

Please be patient all I think this could take a few days to assemble but I am excited about the feedback so far.

Unfortunately, all I have are two wireless headsets, and a WebCam Mike. Most
of the time after practiceing i'm usualy so tired I don't wanna do anything,
because with 1 band we usualy practice for about 5 or 6 hours, and the other
band for like 4. My voice may be deep, but it's also the highest one in both
bands.

Ooh, I want to play.

Yeah, not a professional, either, but I am an adequate singer. choir in school, and all that. Karaoke.

I may be purchasing a microphone, today. LOL

I can't sing worth crap, but I think I know a zoner who might be interested. Only thing is he's out of town at the moment. I'll get back to you or just have him get in touch with you.
